Hip Haiku
I contemplate the act
Sleep, cut, saw, "Old hip, be gone!"
New hip brings painless hopes
Nurse asks many questions
The subject? My health history,
I feel her empathy
Baptist Hospital,
Like a chic boutique hotel
Clerks in matching suits.
Friends send me support
And family is there for me
What more could I wish?
